Finally we had a great day for riding. Except for the Blessing ride at the beginning of the summer, every ride involved rain, and getting wet-- everthing from a bit damp to totally drenched. But Oct 5th was a beautiful sunny cool fall day, and perfect for riding in every way. Not so cold you freeze, and yet not so hot that leathers are uncomfortable.
We met a CiCi's pizza in Streetsboro, and filled up on pizza and salad, before firing up our iron ponies and pointing them West. It was a small group this ride with only eight riders mounting six machines. Heading down 303 through Hudson to Penninsula at a leisurely pace due to heavy traffic, we eventually turned North and cruised the twisties past Boston Mills and Brandywine ski resorts. The bikes were out in force, and it seemed ever other vehicle had two wheels, instead of the habitual four. The beautiful day, twisty roads and breeze in the proverbial hair (even though I ride with a full-face helmet) made me feel especially sorry for the cagers trapped inside their claustrophobic boring metal boxes, slogging sluggishly along on four pitiful wheels. They truly don't know what they are missing.
Final Ride this Sunday Oct. 5th. Lord willing and weather permitting, we'll be riding to Brandywine Falls.
Aug 10, Geneva On the Lake, A nice lunch at an Amish restaraunt in Middlefield was (three strikes we're out) yet again followed by an optimistic 10 minute ride North, before the rains came. We totally wimped out, turned around and beat a retreat south, staying mostly dry.

The 2nd Annual Pig Roast and Cruse In was a great success, with many visitors and several hot rods and bikes. Over 300 people stopped in to sample Dan Tyrell's pig-roasting skills, and to see, Killroy, Dan Greathouse's hot balloon and the hotrods & classics. Unfortunately, it was too windy for Dan to take people up for a "tether ride" in the balloon, but he was able to do a demonstration of pre-launch and inflation. Additionally, Dan explained all about ballooning to the delight of the crowd.
I forgot my digital camera that day, but am hoping to collect some donated pictures for this page, so check back soon. Or if you have any photos of the event please contact Fred Green via the church office.
July 20, Amsterdam (Jefferson Lake State Park). Not Again!! Rain on the satellite via "Blackckberry" caused a shortening of the route to the great "ice cream" quest.
June 22, PYMATUNING LAKE RUN: “Feed the Fish”, A beautiful ride over to the Lake was followed by a very "damp" (actually it was a torrential downpour) ride back. Still it was fun-- in a miserable adventurous sort of way.
