Once again God blessed us with terrific weather-- mostly sunny and 60 degrees. Sixty plus (nobody made a final count) bikes, carrying around 90 riders rolled in for the brief blessing service, beginning at 12:30. Many also made the leisurely ride South on SR 44 to the new Quaker Steak & Lube in North Canton, following the blessing.
Pre-blessing music was provided by Surrender from 11:00 am until the blessing service started. Kevin Howard, a long-time biker gave his testimony of how his life had been changed by trusting in Jesus Christ, as his personal savior.
The veterans were honered with a special word of encouragement and prayer, led by The Crossroads Pastor, Jim Hibschman. Pastor Jim then followed the honoring of veterans with the blessing for the assembled riders, as well as a prayer for safety for the 2008 riding season.
Each rider was presented with a complimentary Gospel of John, as well as a embroidered patch, and etched kick-plate, commemorating the 2008 blessing event. Also included was the 2008 ride schedule. Tee-shirts were also available bearing the 2008 B.O.B event logo (see patch illustration below), and were a big hit.
Crossroads 3rd annual blessing of the bikers turned out to be a great event, as we made many new friends and had a fun time, good fellowship, good food, and a great ride.
For this we thank you and praise you, God.
