The Bible encourages Christians to press on to maturity, to grow as believers (Heb. 6:1). Even Jesus grew both in stature and in wisdom! (Luke 2:52). So to follow the example of Jesus is give ourselves over to maturing as disciples of Christ. We cannot become lax but we need to be pro-active. Make a new resolution this year. Make a resolution that this year is a year for growth! To help challenge you in this think of the simple world GROW. What areas are we to grow in?
G- grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, 2 Pt. 3:18. This is growing as a Christian, deepening our understanding of Jesus and the gospel and how it affects all areas of life.
R- relationships, John 13:34. Grow in our love for one another
O- outreach/evangelism, Mark 15:15. Sharing of our faith and telling of the gospel
W- Works of faith, James 2:17 Putting our faith to work through service
To help think through these areas here are some helpful questions to consider:
1. Which area in your Christian life needs the most attention?
2. Is there a specific reason this area needs the most attention?
3. What steps will you take to G.R.O.W. in 2018?
